I personally have been battling this war between expectations and acceptance. Of course expectations always wants to exceed reality.

I have accepted reality. For better or for worse, I know it is what I must accept because battling the my expectations against “the other’s” expectations only makes things worse. I will admit that is not an easy, but by doing this you ease the tensions around you which makes for a better balance.
